Type 52 alloy electric guitar strings

High energy at your fingertips!
Rotosound's Ultramag strings are made with type 52 alloy – a highly magnetic material made from 52% nickel and 48% iron. This blend gives Ultramag strings more power, sustain, and a longer string life than traditional nickel or steel strings.

Gauge: 9 11 16 24 32 42

State of the art
Ultramag strings deliver a strong output with pronounced mid and low frequencies – perfect for powerful lead lines and driving riffs. We use type 52 alloy designed for use in the aerospace industry allowing Ultramag strings to maintain their tuning in the most extreme environments. To top this all off, type 52 alloy has corrosion resistant properties so your great tone keeps going for longer. This innovation continues Rotosound’s proud legacy of cutting-edge string design that started with the first roundwound bass strings in the sixties.

Type 52 alloy
This high-end range uses a premium material to produce a stronger, longer lasting string with an unrivalled tone. Type 52 alloy combines the excellent resonant properties and magnetic response of steel with the accentuated middle and bass frequencies offered by nickel.

Great British quality
Manufactured in the UK to precise tolerances and using only the finest materials, you can rely on Rotosound strings for consistent tone and performance in every packet. Every Ultramag string is manufactured on custom built machines designed and built in the UK by Jason How.

Iconic music strings
This innovation continues Rotosound’s proud legacy of cutting-edge string design that started with our roundwound strings in the sixties. Developed in conjunction with some of the world's top artists, Rotosound strings are synonymous with timeless tone, longevity and rock history.

Started in 1958 by James How, an engineer who made strings for his own instruments, Rotosound became known around the world for its superior quality products and famous endorsees such as Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Queen to name just a few. The Who’s John Entwistle started a long partnership with James and helped develop the Swing Bass roundwound strings which have become the industry standard.
