Phosphor bronze is an alloy of copper and tin and has become the industry standard for acoustic guitar strings. For music string wire, tin alloyed with copper adds an excellent all round sound with depth and warmth without loss of clarity – not quite the zing or edginess of brass but with more of an accentuated middle.
