Edgar Russ Linea Mauro Macchi Violin 4/4 Stradivari Model, b uilt in the Master-Workshop of Edgar Russ in Cremona, built without any tropical woods, solid spruce top, solid flamed m aple back, pegs, tailpiece and chinrest made of Blackwood (h ardened pine) fingerboard, upper nut and saddle made of Blac kwood (hardened pine). Blackwood is an excellent alternative for ebony in terms of sound, appearance, haptics, playabili ty and durability. Blackwood is made of plantation-grown and industrially hardened pinewood. Using Blackwood protects na tural ebony resources and helps to preserve tropical rainfor ests. Comes with Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Strings.

This 4/4 violin, which is 100% tropical-wood free, includes a blackwood fingerboard as an alternative to ebony, but equivalent in sound, look and feel.

The industrially hardened blackwood, which is obtained from pinewood grown in plantations, has been used to preserve natural ebony resources and protect rainforests.
